Attention all fan-fic junkies and smut-peddlers: We've got one hell of an update for you.
This new House Party update and Custom Story Creator Beta includes a bunch of improvements to performance, usability, story fixes, and -- most importantly -- one of the biggest upgrades the Custom Story Creator has ever had.
House Party 1.5.2.14040 Update
Before we get into the big CSC stuff, here's what you should know about the House Party update:
Performance has gained a huge boost. In addition to a new loading screen, you'll notice that the loading screen will move a lot quicker. Things are moving quicker than they ever did before.
We've also polished up some story things -- including some fixes for Nocturnal Temptations. But let's dive into the meat of it.
Custom Story Creators can also play test their saved draft stories before publishing by accessing them in the new My Stories tab in, the in game Custom Story Browser..
The House Party Custom Story Creator is moving to the world wide web. And that means it's getting a hell of a lot easier to use. Here's what you can expect:
No More Installing Unity
This is probably the biggest improvement. Before, to create custom stories in HP, you'd have to install Unity, keep it updated, etc -- it was a whole thing. But now, with the new web CSC, you just login with your Eek account and you're off to the races.
Login and check it out for yourself. Easy as pie.
Cloud Draft Saving & Cross-Device Support
You can still import and export stories locally just like the Legacy CSC, but now you can also save drafts directly to the cloud and reopen them later from any device.
So if you’re halfway through writing the next great American novel in HP and suddenly pass out face-first into your keyboard after drinking too much warm milk, your work will still be there waiting for you.
On top of that, your cloud drafts can also be accessed directly inside House Party itself, making playtesting way easier before publishing.
And when you've finished your story, you can now publish stories directly from the Web CSC too. Spread your sickness worldwide with the click of a button!
Built for the Future (And Office Party)
Moving the CSC to a web-based platform gives us way more freedom to improve usability, add features faster, and keep evolving the tool moving forward. You’ll already feel this evolution with how easy it is to navigate and search within the CSC. But this is just the beginning.
This tech is also paving the way for the next generation of creation tools coming to Office Party. We want creating stories to be easier, faster, more accessible, and way more powerful moving forward.
The goal here was to make the CSC more accessible to Eek fans. Which will hopefully mean more crazy shit made by the fans. And we can't wait to see what you all do with it.
